I am a second-generation San Diegan, having been reared in Solana Beach. I was born on Coronado “Island” (it’s really a peninsula). After youthful wandering, I returned to Solana Beach in 1970. I reside in the same home I have owned for about 25 years, across the street from where I grew up. I have lived in Solana Beach since 1960!
I have been a real estate licensee since 1979, selling primarily residential real estate with a smattering of commercial and constant property management contracts. I was first licensed in 1978 & sat for & passed my broker exam in 1984 and started my own company "Louise Abbott Real Estate" shortly thereafter. I am a former director of the San Dieguito Association of Realtors. I was on the Professional Standards Committee with the San Diego Association of Realtors, serving as a panelist on hearings for both Realtor vs. Realtor or Public vs. Realtor complaints. I have also participated on numerous general plan and zoning committees implementing zoning regulations for the City of Solana Beach. I am well respected in both the Realtor and North Coast communities. I’m a strong advocate for Property Rights. I plan on founding a Property Rights non-profit called the Property Rights Foundation sometime in the future. You might check out the temporary website: http://www.realpropertyrights.org.
I consider my real estate brokerage a boutique company. I work on the premise that my clients are intelligent and educated consumers capable of making their own decisions. I provide my clients with all the information necessary to enable them to make smart choices. I carefully screen out inappropriate properties based upon careful listening to my clients in order to save them time. I don't push or sell you anything. No hype, no pressure, just quality, professional assistance with your real estate transaction. I usually pick up the phone when it rings, and if you get my voice mail, I pride myself in returning your phone call within two hours. I don't work with or believe in assistants. I am an excellent listener who is sensitive to your needs. When I am working for you—you get my undivided attention & you might be my only active client. Your best interest is always primary in all my work.
When buying real estate; the most important thing is to get a pre-approved by your lender prior to shopping. I used to be a loan officer; however with the new lending disaster my options have been cut off. I can certainly refer you to a very good mortgage broker, or if you have a relationship with another lender, great. Just get pre-approved by a reputable lender. When selling your real estate must be properly priced & staging your home is also quite important. When you get an offer we have to see a pre-approval letter from a good lender prior to accepting it. The lending market is in a total free fall; on the other hand, interest rates are at historical lows! Cash is King and there are incredible opportunities for Buyers with the funds available.
Technology is a great tool. Email is fantastic and quick. However, all the technology in the world will only help you in your purchase or sale. I am a techno-lover; I even build my own computers. I am also very aware that there is no substitution for knowledge, ethics, and personal service. I am very commitment oriented and generally, I work with only one or at most two clients at a time.
I look forward to working for you,
Louise
